About Us

St. Mary's College R.F.C. Women's Rugby

Want to play women’s rugby? We are currently recruiting new players who are looking to have a bit of fun both on and off the pitch!

St. Mary’s Women’s Team play in Division 1 of the All Ireland League and are located in Templeogue in the heart of Dublin. We won Division 2 of the AIL in the ‘08/’09 season, having gone unbeaten in all league matches throughout the season. Last year, newly promoted to Division 1 the girls finished in a respectable sixth position in the league, got to the quarter-finals of the AIL Cup and won the inaugural ‘Paul Flood’ Leinster Cup. We have recently won the All-Ireland Plate Competition which makes it three trophies from each of the last three seasons!

As well as the traditional 15-a-side game played during the season, we also play Tag and 7s during the Summer. 7s is a relatively new form of the game and since the announcement of it's inclusion in the Olympics in Rio in 2016, it's popularity has grown. 7s is a great game to both play and watch with it's fast tempo and high skills set.

We have welcomed many newcomers- both new to rugby and people who have previously played- over the years and all seem to enjoy the wonderful facilities at Templeville Road, the great atmosphere within the team and our social occasions. Our experienced coaching staff can cater for all levels- no previous rugby experience is necessary; whether you have played Tag, GAA or have never played a sport before you’ll have lots of fun learning rugby with us!

We are currently looking to set up underage teams so we are looking for as many girls interested in rugby as possible. Please contact us for more information.

We are centrally located in Templeogue which is close to the M50 and on bus routes from the City Centre and Tallaght. Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm in Templeville Road. Call up any evening to training to have a look or come along to a match and have a chat with some of the girls.
